California Health Trends

California health trends make me think of an abundance of natural settings, natural foods, and a holistic approach to health. In a lot of ways the California lifestyle is symbolic of a natural healthy lifestyle. Comfortable temperatures make connecting with nature more accessible. Mountains, deserts, forest, beaches and canyons to take advantage of year round. Year round warm temperatures make outdoor exercising (e.g., biking, hiking, and nature walks) more feasible and growing healthy fruits and veggies easier.

The awesome thing about adopting such a lifestyle is that it doesn't matter where you live. Even on the east coast and up north one can search for farmers' markets, food festivals, yoga center, and outdoor activities. Farmers markets that offer the finest in fresh natural foods for healthy eating are available almost everywhere.

While I use meditation to quite my mind and relax my soul, I now bring focus to my internal health. On my quest to maximize good healthy living with mediation and exercise it's important to incorporate natural foods while on this journey. Super foods are my connection to a California health trend of a diet of all natural foods. Super foods that I rely on are mainly spirulina and other green foods such as blue-green algae, beans, nuts, and fresh fruits.

Incorporating Superfoods Into My Diet

On my quest for more healthier natural foods and supplements I started to not only look at healthy supplements I can take but superfoods I can [easily] incorporate into my diet.

Well for some reason I thought this would be hard. I would find all these exotic foods that I wouldn't know what country they came from where to buy them or how to prepare them. Well, I was wrong. Different websites list identical items and some have different foods listed. Here are some of the superfoods I found on various websites:

So I started thinking "I can incorporate these in my diet." In fact, I'm already eating some of these now. There are several that I have not incorporated in my diet such as green foods and vegetables like spinach and kale. I'm trying to envision myself cooking kale and it's not happening. This is where I think I'm going to need supplements to cover the green foods and veggies I'm not getting in my diet on a consistent basis.

So my quest for healthy living continues.

SPIRULINA: AWESOME SUPERFOOD

I was trying to think of what type of supplements I could take when I'm feeling sluggish and I need extra energy but I want to stay healthy. So I started to do some research on superfoods and that's when I started to read about spirulina and other natural foods.

Spirulina is a wonderfully nutritious superfood. Spirulina has the highest concentration of protein of any food (60% protein by weight!). It is the highest source of the B vitamin complex, including B-12. And it is extremely high in chlorophyll and beta carotene. Spirulina beta carotene is ten times more concentrated than carrots.
Spirulina is a rich source of iron.

For my hectic and active lifestyle or if I'm not getting my daily fruits and veggies in my diet, I now take spirulina. Check out Billy-Superfoods to see what all you can pack into a healthy natural foods.
