I love Whole Foods!

The new love of my life is Whole Foods. I have been able to get some great ideas towards living a healthier lifestyle. During the winter I spend time in colder climate which makes it hard to frequent farmers' markets so a fun alternative has been weekly trips to Whole foods for fresh fruits and veggies. I also am able to get great recipe ideas and their vitamin section is awesome.

Because I'm on this California health trend kick I have been focusing more on California grown produce and California spirulina mainly because I've done my research and I'm learning a lot about how California spirulina is grown. Even better I'm using the fruits and veggies I'm getting at Whole Foods and adding spirulina for extra vitamins and energy!

Although Whole Foods can be a little pricey for my budget, especially these days, I still am able to get some great ideas on how to cook healthier for me and my family. There are also some pretty simple recipes on that internet that use California spirulina as an easy supplement to add.

I'm anemic, how can I get iron with superfoods?

I often battle with anemia and after doing research and reading blogs on superfoods, I have been trying to get my iron with superfoods. My doctor told me my iron was low and told me to eat liver or a steak. Well this is hard considering I don't eat red meat.

So I decided to put together an anemic diet consisting of iron-rich foods. So far I have included the following in my diet:

Beans
Turkey
Oats
pumpkin seeds

This is just a start I'm still researching different foods that will add iron to my diet. I have found a love for California walnuts which have a decent source of iron. I also found out that the iron in California spirulina is easily absorbed by the human body. I think I have a problem with absorbtion so California spirulina works well for me.

I've been purchasing organically grown California spirulina from Billy's Superfoods and this has so far been the best supplement I could give my body.

California Superfoods After Detoxing

I recently embarked on a 10 day fast. After my fast I wanted to make sure the foods I put in my body were organically grown and nutritious. I decided to focus on superfoods more specifically organically grown California superfoods.

I primarily focused on spirulina immediately after my detox. Then I focused on green superfoods such as kale, spinach, and broccoli. That I cooked using organic garlic. For snacks and desserts I ate California nuts and organic fruits such as blueberries and bananas. Coming off of my fast has never been smoother. Having organic California grown superfoods made me feel I was replacing what I lost during the fast with the best foods out there.

Although I began returning to my normal diet I continued to include superfood supplements such as organic California blue green algae.

California Living

Imagine unconditional healthy living. Imagine a world in which healthy eating and active living is the preferred and chosen course of action for everyone. Imagine that healthy living is a choice people make because they want to and the world makes it easy to make those choices.

In an ideal world I would be able to make healthy choices and have easy access to healthy foods and education on healthy trends. In California, health trends are pretty accessible. The California environment and what it has to offer is what makes living a healthy lifestyle easy.

Year round temperate weather makes outdoor exercise/activity more accessible. The temperate weather also makes for year round organically grown produce. Because of this natural foods are in abundance.

California health trends can encompass so many activities from biking to fresh food market shopping, meditation, and going organic.

How do I get extra protein in my diet?

I've been dealing with anemia and lack of energy lately and have been researching how to get more iron and protein in my diet. I've been incorporating more food items that are high in iron such as spinach and chard. However, protein is challenging as I don't eat a lot of meat.

So I googled protein and superfoods. I googled superfoods because I really want to make sure I include protein that's natural and if possible organic. My results came up several time with California grown blue-green algae & California spirulina. Blue-green algae are superfoods that are considered the cutting-edge of today’s nutrition. California spirulina is the highest concentration of protein of any food(60% protein by weight!).

But what's with the emphasis on California. Well it began to make sense to me as I researched natural foods. Sunny weather, opportunities for year long outdoor exercising, an abundance of organically grown produce, and a strong emphasis on healthy living and natural foods. That is the California lifestyle. Amongst other things.

So it makes sense to have supplements that helps with adding protein to my diet. It helps, as I try to add foods to my diet, to have superfood supplements that can give me the extra nutrients I need. California blue green algae is that superfood with that extra kick I need in my everyday diet.

Meditation & California Spirulina

Meditation and healthy eating go hand in hand. Inner peace and balance are often obtained with mediation. Inner peace and balance are also obtained by maintaining a healthy natural diet.

Because of my busy lifestyle I find I run out of energy at times. Getting that extra pick-me-up has become important. More importantly I want to find a natural rejuvenator so that I can continue to maintain a natural lifestyle. The answer for my health needs has been to use a prescription of intense mediation and California grown spirulina.

Spirulina provides me with a wide range of phytonutrients and all the key antioxidants my body needs. Meditation helps balance my mind and body.

Overall, meditation has brought me calm to an otherwise hectic lifestyle and California spirulina has brought me internal healing .

California superfoods

As we try to find new ways to stay healthy by exercising and eating right we continue to try new fads, ideas, videos, and often bizarre diets. Sometimes it helps to go back to the basics.

Introducing California grown superfoods into my diet has been great and believe it or not a simple way to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I can see why a lot of people envy the California lifestyle. California superfoods have helped me to be more active, and engaging with the natural environment. A combination of fresh outdoor activities, exercise and healthy natural foods is all I need.

Superfoods that I continue to make sure I incorporate in my diet include:

Avocados
Spinach
Blueberries
California walnuts
Soy
Salmon

California superfoods are foods that I may not get in my diet on a daily basis. Incorporating superfoods into my diet daily is still a work in progress. But I'm learning that with more research that superfoods have all important benefits with life-long effects.

Incorporating California superfoods has been the best thing I ever done for my body and soul.
